That is a good size quilt, your color selection is very nice. The second quilt I made was for my mom,

Your mom will love this - it is beautiful!!

I made my mom a quilt for Christmas too. She got it early, because we all wanted to celebrate before my daughter went to her dad's for the holidays. Mom cried and was so thankful. I'm pretty sure you could have offered her your very first quilt and your mom would have loved every thread and been thrilled, no matter how bad it was. Mom's have that ability. My favourite Christmas present this year is a picture my 5yo daughter drew of a lemonade stand. She spent so much time drawing it for me, hiding it every time I was near and wrapping it up to put under the tree. I loved it more for the love and effort she put into it than anything. :)

Yup! Surprises are the best. My mom is one of those people who are really hard to find a gift for, not because she is picky or anything, but she really has what she needs, so she probably thinks she is getting a dreaded blouse again

What a cute story, deema. How cute of your daughter. I hope my mom likes it, but I don't want her to cry, it is very contagious in our family  :XD:
