I made my first gift quilt to my mom, I had actually planned on giving her the very first quilt I made, but she deserves better, so I practiced on a few and then made her this: Firey Emeralds. It is the biggest quilt I've made so far: 58x78. It wasn't planned that big, it just grew in the process, lol. I loved strip piecing this quilt, it went together fast..can't say the same about quilting it though, although I did enjoy using the variegated thread for quilting for the first time. It is a surprise, she has no clue that I am making a quilt for her, and she is coming over this year for Christmas, I can't wait for her to get it.

Thanks for looking all, and Happy Holidays to you and yours!

How pretty! Your mother will adore it, more so because it came from your heart.
