Default bike fan idea
Ok, so I'm am into bicycling. I opened up a box for a new chain and thought. hmm. This could be an interesting quilt pattern. But not with just gray.

it reminds me of the dog bone pattern. don't know the proper name for it, Maybe apple core. good luck making it. have fun.

Quilts my Way has a pattern for a bike chain quilt that seems to be exactly what you need. It was published in a recent magazine which I have but can't
Find right now. I will post when I can find it.
