beautiful quilt and even though i am color challenged i have to agree that black would frame the quilt beautifully.

Gorgeous quilt. I just love scrap quilts and have a zilllion tumblers cut - waiting for an elf to come along and put them together! I think black binding would be best. (in my humble opinion)! Love the pointed edges - don't cut them off - although it will make binding the quilt rather difficult.

I agree with pal. Don't compromise what you really want to do just to get it done in time. I've had to give an unfinished quilt more than once, but it's like a second gift when you give it back finished the way you envisioned. And you'll be more satisfied. Beautiful work, by the way.

    Oh mY!!!

    Here's my decisions...
The points stay. No set in triangles.
And I tried the black. I really did and it was like I was drawing a black line around all the pretty colours. Didn't do it for me. It drew my eye away from all the pretty colours like it was shouting, "LOOK AT ME!!!"

SO... are you ready? You know how you can wear jeans with any colour and it looks fine? Ta da! I had some cotton fabric that has a denim pattern. Medium blue. And that's what I went with. I'll post a pic tomorrow when I get it off the machine. 3/4 done!!

WOW that is stunning. I agree black or dark (or electric?) blue would set it off nicely. Or even a vibrant yellow.

I love the story of the courting quilt, what a lovely idea.

Ok, am now going to go back to the pic and try and find the two matching fabrics!

    ah
I have a friend who spent a hour looking yesterday. No find!! When the quilt top was almost finished I took a break of a couple of months, And when I went back to it I panicked!!! WHere were the matching triangles!! Took me several hours to find them and I knew what colour they were!!!!
