Your design has endless possibilities. A bigger tree would be a great way to display vintage wooden spools.

I welded the RR spike to the backing plate. I drilled a couple of holes in the backing and plug welded the spike.

I forgot to mention I welded the bundle of wires at the top where the wires branches off and at the bottom of the wires, drilled a hole in the RR spike and put the wire bundle through it. Don't know if you can see them too well, but I put loops at various heights to keep the bobbins from falling all the way down.
