I bought this block of the month a long time ago to practice my stitching on but didn't like how it looked. Didn't like one of the inner petal fabrics (won't use it either). Today I finished stitching up to that point and it was bothering me that my "points" weren't as sharp as they should be (some way off). Buttons to the Rescue. I just got back from Walmart and found a button that I can use in the middle (grins).

First Bonni - stop selling yourself short (yeah, I know). Second it was great the way it was BUT it is fabulous with the button. What a great idea to finish it off that way!

Thanks Everybody. As for Connie - grins -

I know. I know. That's why I like getting during lunch hours sometimes - to bounce ideas off of each other.

Buttons are great to cover up those pesky misses. Yo-yos work also.

The button looks great but you might want to wait until AFTER you quilt it. Buttons and other large embellishments can be a nightmare if they're put on before quilting.

Also I like to say this: Don't insist that it be perfect. If you look closely at published quilts by professional quilt makers their points don't always match up either. A tiny mistake in a block looks HUGE, put that block in a quilt and it will make the tiny mistake next to invisible. Put the quilt on a bed, couch or on the wall and MAGIC happens!!! The tiny little mistake dissappears!
