Yes I've made a quilt that I consider ugly... Actually I didn't get past the blocks I never sewed it together. I wanted to answer your original question. I cringe every time I see the blocks... To waste more fabric and batting just has not seemed worth it. I don't have a pic on this phone of them... But they are bright pinwheels with black and I honestly should have done white. Great job on your orphan blocks!!!

That's not so ugly - I made one that was really ugly, but unfortunately I don't have pictures of it - I also donated it. Like you I figured it would help keep someone warm.
