I would do both, make a label for the quilt, and write in the book, to a sweet baby bundle of joy. And tell write about the feelings you had making the quilt, and awaiting the arrival of this sweet little blessing.

Congrats on first grandchild and a beautiful quilt. I have two grandsons and a granddaughter n law and one great granddaughter (the first girl in our family). She is so special. I don't get to see her often, tho, because my grandson is in the Air Force and stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas right now.

Love the quilt and the idea of putting the book with it.
I would wait till the baby is born. You might want to write something in the book about when she was born.

Beautiful Quilt! I won't tell anyone, but my cat is a blabbbermouth. So honored that you shared with us BEFORE you told your closest friends.
