give it now, reserve label till you know name, birthdate, etc. Oh, and congratulations. I'll tell you what a wise lady told me when I was expecting my first grandchild: You just thought you loved your own children, your love for this grandchild cannot be expressed.

I think the label could say 'with love for my first grandchild' Adding the label later is ok too. I made two quilts before I even knew to make a label and had to retrieve them :-) Congratulations to you and to the new parents!

So happy for you! Became a grandmother August of 2009 and now my fourth is on the way. Do what you want about writing, but it doesn't hurt if you go ahead and write now. The baby will just know that he/she was loved from before they were born. Being a grandmother is the best. I just wish I had already known how to quilt. Your quilt is lovely.

LOL Congratulations .. when all 3 of my grands were born (all girls!)I put on it to Angelbaby with love Grandma with my last name(so that when they get older they know which grandmother gave it to them). I call each one of my grands my angels and they drag out the books for me to read when I am over at their house. Never once has any of the 3 asked me why I wrote Angelbaby on anything. Sometimes I will number things for them and they think that is cool .. Angelbaby1 etc..
