A free pattern can be found at about.com then put in bug jar and it will bring up pattern and directions. Then just trim it to make potholders!!!!

What did you use in the middle? Plain batting or something heat proof?

I used Insulbrite & batting for the first . When I ran out of Insulbrite, I treated myself to a new ironing bd cover & cut up the old one for the pickle jars! I used 2 layers of the ironing bd stuff & tested the quilted piece by holding against a hot iron. If you read the potholder threrad there are a lot of suggestions, including foil.

I love these. I had to go looking and found this pic. Going to try and enlarge it and make some potholders.
Thank You for the great idea. I love giving small gifts at Thanksgiving and these will be great.
