I pieced this OBW over 2 months ago but couldn't decide what to do in the borders. Finally decided on a big meander but in a very bright variegated Superior King Tut to match the cubes - the colours of it are very defined but dont think it shows up in the photo but the colours of the thread are very visible "in the flesh".
The cubes are SID with Bottom Line, and the black and white blocks also quilted with it, so as not to detract from the cubes. It measures 54"x33" and will hang on one of the stone walls.

    original black & white fabric

Cart before the horse is part of the OBW "affliction"
I have a special rail I keep the obw fabrics on which I buy (because you dont pre-wash them!). Trouble is I keep buying them, so now the problem is how to choose which one to do. You find yourself looking at fabric in a totally new way.
I hope Santa is kind to you

Great decision! Is that Joseph's Coat by any chance? Looks beautiful against the black.

Would love to be able to do one of these some day. Your work is gorgeous! I love the pattern and your choice of colors and thread is great! Black and white prints are so cool.
I have done a stack n whack... well, they are cut out and sewn together. Just haven't put them in a quilt yet. But these OBWs with the cubes are fascinating! How fun!
    Love it!!
