The pattern called for narrow black rick rack for the stems for the cherries. Couldn't find any so I used narrow black elastic and sewed down the length of the stem with black thread. Worked perfect.

I am a "bright" quilt person so obviously love your quilt. I too have found that Mary Engelbreit fabric is not so great - - seems to really want to ravel/fray so I try not to use it anymore. That is a shame because I love her bright cheery designs and generally love the "look" of her fabric, just not the quality. Thanks for sharing.

I love your Cheery Charry quilt. I also am intrigued by the one beneath it. Did you make that one too?

I love this! Did you quilt the white quilt underneath? That is beautiful. Looks like its been hand quilted. Love that too :)

Oh my no! It is a set I got at Homesense that had a King sized comforter and two pillow shams. I use it as the back drop for the bed toppers I make like the cheery cherry quilt.

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-63591-1.htm That's what the bed looks like with a topper on it.

I have done similar things in my other two bedrooms as well. Neutral comforters/ spreads and dres them up by changing the quilts.
