Love those chickens! I am a kitchen rooster collector myself.
Oh, the dreaded yellow markings! I too found the yellow chalk is very hard to get out. ( I used the Allory chalk set).I also recently used the Sewline ceramic pencil leads in yellow on a white border and I regret it to no end. I used the fabric eraser that Sewline sells, then used a dry Magic Eraser, then used the Magic Eraser wet, then I tried washing just the area with plain water, then water and Tide, water with Era, and finally water with Dawn dish soap. I read that using 5 parts water to 2 parts white vinegar should work. That is my next step. If that doesn't work, I am stuck ripping out the binding and re-doing it.
I hope you didn't use the yellow chalk on this table topper. Too fantastic of a job to have to go through removing yellow markings.

Yellow chalk.....never again for me !!! I made a wall hanging for a friend and used yellow chalk to mark the top....it did not come out!! I tried everything I could think of. After that I read several times not to use the yellow....so I learned the hard way. I never did give it to her because of the chalk marking. So disappointing! Now I am afraid to use anything to mark my tops.

Had a problem with yellow and with orange Clover chalk. Will never take a chance on either of them again. I will use frixion pens, so who cares if comes back, put in the dryer. I will also use white pounce powder with stencils, I don't use the pounce holder though, I use a cheapy small foam brush and dip into the chalk and lightly brush over the stencil. Brushes off nicely.
