Do both if you have or can get enough fabric.

But really, I like No. 2 better.

Really like both but unless you have a really nice quilting design for all that white you may want to choose the first one.

I like # 2 best. # 1 makes me a little dizzy when I look at it, possibly because I am looking at it up close. On a bed, the # 1 pattern might be easier on the eye.

Another possibility you might want to try .... flip your blocks around so that the stripes match (different fabrics though) and the white space matches. You'll start with a solid block in the centre and come out in blocks around (on point) similar to the #1 version, just that it'll be continual. I know ... probably not explained well!
Thanks, I'm going to put this one in my EQ6 and see how it looks... I'll be back with the verdict!
It'll be interesting to see if what you come up with is anywhere near what I was thinking!

For sure go look at the log cabin layouts .... Here you go for some .....

The one I was trying to describe is the Barn Raising layout ... scroll down to find it.

And there's lots more possibilites that aren't shown in this link.
Well this looks nice too! Here's #3!

#3... Barn Raising Layout
