Cordelia,
You do wonderful work - I found another method for stained-glass windows. The video is on quilterstv.com. One would actually use black as the background and cut out the pieces and piece it with a fusible webbing. Making sure the black space left showing is about 1/4 of an inch - one can place the whole thing on a light box or up to a window. She does not show any machine appliqueing but I think I would do that. Maybe she does and just didn't show it. I forget the name of the video but you could go on there and look for it. Beautuful work on your part as it it is though.

I had forgotten about this thread. That Old World pattern is a Greek Island view.

I actually tried that technique with the black background with the polar bear. She's on a black background. But, I found I couldn't get all the intricate parts sized and properly spaced and gave up and used the tape and stitching.

For simplier patterns, that's the way to go. For intricate, comlex patterns, it's near impossible to get it right.

Well Cordelia, I CAN'T see any problems with them, but if you aren't happy with them I would be happy to send you my address & give them a happy home!! I think you're doing great & they're gorgeous!!

They are beautiful. I don't think I would have the patience to do a stained glass.
