cutting table...(LOL)

I used to be able to cut on the floor, then it was my dining table, then the counter, now a nice cutting table. Even the cutting table makes my back hurt! I think we should all send up a collective prayer/wish for a new cutting table for you!

If that were my situation...my legs would probably complain...I don't have problems with my back, but recently, kneeling is problematic.
On the positive side, look at all the room you have to lay your fabric out, along with no issues of pieces falling on the floor!
Oh, to be so young...

Buy yourself an adjustable ironing board (one that will lower so you can sit in a chair as well as stand up). Buy a scrap piece of plywood (3x6) and cover it with a checkered picnic oil cloth. You can then line up your fabrics by the checks and fabric will slide on it easily. You can stand up then and make it any height you want. Conversely, have a board cut that will cover both your washing machine and your dryer and you will have a work surface you can cut on with your mat or baste, etc. Use your noodle to solve your problem and decide which might work for you. Sorry for your loss of your table. Let us hear what you did.

I bought an old table and my husband boosted the height by screwing blocks of wood under the legs so that it was at a height where it did not hurt my back to stand and cut. I covered it with one of those large cutting mats so it dosen't even matter that it was ugly and really cheap.
I remember the days when I could sit on the floor for hours and work on my projects...those days are over.
