    I used one of the Sulky variegated rayons. I can't remember which one now, but it wasn't a metallic.

    I learned to sew garments WAY before I ever learned to quilt so most of my piecing is geared towards garments. There are some craftsy classes on garment sewing. My friend who quilts but hasn't sewn many clothes said they were really good. She's been able to use those and make clothes for herself.
