Default A delay in posting this comfort quilt.

I finished and gifted this comfort quilt last month for a dear friend of my DH. Sadly he has passed already, but he didn't suffer long and the quilt was indeed a special comfort to him while he used it. This family has been having a difficult time, as I had made a comfort quilt for his son earlier this year. The good word is the son is still with us and doing well. He has bone cancer and hopefully the surgery was very beneficial. His dad, however, had advanced pancreatic cancer by the time it was diagnosed.
I have offered to make a memory quilt for the family when they feel ready to go through his clothes.
Our friend is retired from the Air Force and was a very active member of the rod and gun club.
I also want to thank a super board member who gifted me the wonderful pre-cut leaves during a fabric exchange!!! I am getting a little better at applique each time I try it.

I posted the quilt for his son under the heading "Safety Zone", here is the link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...d-t242619.html

It broke my heart to so soon after be asked to make one for his father. Being very outdoorsy also, I made his quilt and named it "Wonderful Wilderness". Here it is:
