i would highly recommend that you give your coworker a definite $$$ amount because people in general have "NO" idea how much work is put into the items we make/sell. guess how i know.... on a lighter note the lamb quilt is sooo cute :P from grammy6

She will have no idea what you have put into the quilt for skill and materials, and probably her only ideas will come from what she sees for sale in the stores, quilts made "overseas" and not the quality of your work.
Take the advice given you on here of estimating your value, even if you think it is "high" compared to store prices - your work is WORTH IT!!!!
Besides, people tend to treasure more what they have to pay more for, and she will only know the proper value of your work if you tell her.
DO NOT undervalue your work.
Be prepared, if you leave the value up to her, to be sorely disappointed in what she offers, because again, she will not know the value.
I love your quilt.
p.s. If you tell her the price you want for the quilt, and you see shock or awe or horror on her face in reply, you might just this once compromise and make what she considers a more fair offer.
THEREAFTER,
tell a prospective customer up front a ballpark figure of how much the quilt will cost, so they know ahead of time what they have actually asked for.
