I don't know why, but I bought this at an Estate Sale. I think I was influenced by this board. Y'all talk about having lots of machines and I only had two, so I thought I better buy this one when I saw it. I don't even like old things. I'm going to put this on Craigslist but I want to be sure to list it correctly. On the front it says '301A'. The little piece on the left does raise up. If it's not a featherweight, how should I list it? Thanks.

Here is a good descriptive comparison of Featherweight & 301a

It's definately a 301 which is also a great machine and quite collectible. They came in a couple of slightly different styles and colours. Yours has the shorter flip up bed and takes the same bobbin as a featherweight. The 301 can also be brown or mocha/biege with the longer flip up bed. They are all considered to be the bigger sister to the featherweight. A featherweight is much smaller and lighter and is usually black too but they also came in tan and the latest models were white. I'd read up about this machine and do some stitching on it before you decide to sell it. You may just fall in love.

What a beauty! Wish I was close enough to buy it from you. Love the 301 and I've been coveting a black one. Think I'll end up with good old beige, though.
Great machine and still exceptionally light in weight. You got an awesome score!
