Are you hand quilting it? This is absolutely stunning. And that does not even do it justice.
I know what you mean about pastors and their families. Our Galveston Baptist Assn. here sponsored a Pastors and their wives weekend last weekend. We had our room and all meals furnished free! And they had a great speaker. This is unusual for this to happen. We are retired with grown son and daughter. We both volunteer in our Church and if the pastor is out, my husband preaches.
I would love to see this when it is completed.
Where are you going in the states? Kansas?

My son is getting married in Nebraska and we are just staying in the area for most of the month.
I got it fixed. It is now a 6x6, so it is 112" square. Now for the quilting. Well, the sandwiching first. I dread that.
And...if anyone sees a mistake, NOW is the time to mention it. Thanks.
I just figured it up. It has 6432 pieces. And not one triangle! My kind of piecing.

NO WAY would I take it apart to make it larger. Here is what I would do...
1) Find out if they use a bedskirt. If not, buy one at Walmart to match the quilt (or maybe just not do this)
2) Have them put it on their bed with the 112" on the sides and the 94" on the top/bottom. Make them a couple of pillow cases or pillow shams to make up for the difference in the length from top to bottom.
I hope that is clear. Lots of people don't do the old fashioned turn down at the top and bring over the pillows. Many people like to display their pretty pillow cases, which would be perfect for this issue.
It will be plenty long on the sides with the 112" and then the pillow cases or pillow shames (or both?) will make up the difference at the top.
That is one amazing quilt and the will be SO BLESSED to get it as a gift from you. What a wonderful thing to do for them
