This will become known in my family as the quilt from hell.
Have you ever started a project that when thought of and planned, sounded just wonderful? But ends up nothing like you pictured it in your mind and you are soooo disappointed that you want to cry? Well, this one is mine...It is for my now 18 year old nephew and was supposed to be a sort of retrospective. The theme was his favorite movie of all times, The Wizard of OZ and shows his journey along the yellow brick road.
Well if no one looks closely it will pass inspection and his mother will cry and love it, but I secretly hope I can do another one for him down the road.

I thank you all for your too kind words. Like I said---if you don't look too closely you can't see all the problems. Things like that stupid inset road just kicked my butt! Why I decided I had the skill set to tackle that I'll never know. I should have just appliqued it like everything else. And speaking of appliques, I think that is another thing that really bothered me about this quilt. It didn't seem to have a rhyme or reason---just cut out pieces sewn all over the place...Sigh.....
Oh well # 2 Christmas Quilt now finished and post to follow on it.

It looks great and I am sure you are like so many of we fellow quilters... you are guilty of looking tooooo closely! You have read the post of the person galloping by at a fast speed on a horse who can't see anything wrong with the quilt.

Enjoy everyone's apppreciation of your handiwork and your family's sentimental tears. :-D
