You did an awesome job on your first quilt, you should be very proud of it. Love your color choices. I would leave the binding on this quilt the way it is. I hope you will share your new quilt when you are finished.

The colors are so bright and cheerful. Perhaps there is a tutorial on binding here on the board. I know I cut 2.5 inch strips and fold them in half lengthwise. Then I sew the raw edge to the raw edge of the quilt and wrap the binding around to the other side. Hand or machine stitch it down. Is the binding on this one double? I can't see it well enough, but it looks like a single layer and not finished on the edge. It will just fray like crazy if that is the case. Your first effort for a quilt is amazing. There is a bunch of good advice here.

Thanks for all of your very kinds words of encouragement. I was kind of worried about the bright colors for a baby quilt. Hopefully my niece will like them too.

I think I will leave the binding for now, and try to do better on the next quilt. Now that I know what I have done wrong, it will be so much easier..

Thanks for being so helpful. What a wonderful group of people quilters are.
