Well, I decided to take the plunge. Trying to keep it simple for a first try. This was the only WTP print at Walmart. I fussy cut the characters. Still fooling around with how to place blocks but I wanted to share this. It's for my partner's sister's baby. Her nursery theme is Winnie the Pooh. It was a little hard to pick out complementing colors, being new at this. I hope they look okay. Any suggestions for a SIMPLE way to make it look more interesting? I am sooooo excited to do this!

Very Pretty!!! Love those fabrics!!! :D :D :D
Is that a blue border for the quilt? I like that, and then maybe a second border of the green and bind it with the pink.

Thanks, Amma. Yes, the blue is a ready made "blanket binding." I was thinking along your lines, too, that green and pink would look nice worked into some kind of border/binding. I've been looking around the board and the net for easy border and binding methods, since the idea still intimidates me a little.

Thanks, Ducky, my partner thought it was a really good color for the binding, too, I'm glad you second that. : )

I think it looks great! And, don't be afraid to do a simple quilt. I have found out that people who are not quilters appreciate a simple quilt just as much as an intricate one. So, you can save the intricate quilts for YOURSELF!!!

Wow, sorry everyone, I just realized my avatar is blinding when given in large doses. Anyway, thanks sewjoyce-now all I have to do is learn how to put that binding on. hmmm.

Looks so cute. I really like that Pooh fabric. Your coordinating fabrics looks very nice with it. Make more!

Hi and welcome from No. California.
I love your color mix and binding color.
How about trying a 1 1/2" border of pink
and then a 3" border of green... then the
    blue binding?
It will add to the size of the quilt and will
make those colors in the quilt 'pop'.
You're doing a great job! Be sure to post
    the finished quilt.

Thanks motomom, I had higher aspirations but I have a ways to go. Maybe next time I'll try the border thing.

Make more? I'm sure...my oldest daughter (20) just told me she thinks I'm getting in "grandmother mode." I said nothing wrong with that, and lots of people quilt no matter age.
