I finally got around to posting these. My mom gave me a bunch of fat quarters for Christmas, so I was more or less playing around. If you notice, bottom left block is slightly smaller than the others. I basically lined it up to the center, then put wide sashing on the outside. When I joined the four squares, I just cut it to square up the whole thing before adding the borders. Since it's for me, and I'm still learning, I thought it would be a shame to throw it out.

The whole thing happened because it turns out that my 8" square template is actually 8.5". That wouldn't have been a problem except I also used another ruler as well.

But overall, I'm happy with it and the colorfulness of it.

Here she is in her new home. Now I don't know what color/pattern for accent pillows. Any suggestions?

That's adorable. Love the fabric you got! I wouldn't have noticed that the one block was smaller if you didn't mention it! Lovely work.

It is lovely. I can't see any mistakes. ALL my quilts have at least one mistake somewhere. I don't stress over them. Only God is perfect:)

Your "mistake" is barely noticeable. Unless someone is aware of it, I bet most folks wouldn't ever see it. Love your colors!! Enjoy your quilt and don't sweat the small stuff!!

Caught this one from your link on another - I've been messing around with scraps and just creating a bunch of miscellaneous "practice quilts" and they often end up square, so I really like what you did to lengthen the work into a rectangle. It's a really cute quilt, and thanks for sharing your ingenuity - I may copy your technique soon!
