Way to go! I just love it when people find bargains. Especially in today's economy. Congrats!

That "bleh" fabric can be the backing on a "gift" or charity quilt. At least it will be used and you will not have to see ever again. I like it.

My heart can't stand many more yard sale stories. You did hug your hubby for taking you out, didn't you?

Saturday was the first warm day of the year here. DH thought I should get out of the house for a while, so he took me 'garage sale-ing'. We found lots of 'MSIG' (my s--t is gold) sales. At the last stop on the list, DH stayed in the van as usual, so I went around the house to the 'backyard sale'. I really didn't see much that I was interested in, except for an old standing cradle that was home made. As I looked inside, I moved what turned out to be an ugly (to me) piece of fabric. (See the first picture.) I was just holding it up and wondering how much I would have to drink (my favorite scale even if I don't drink, lol!) to like it. The lady having the sale saw me, and asked if I sewed. I said "yes, and I make quilts". She said "I will let you have all of it for ten dollars". I was holding 1 &1/2 yards of fabric they 'don't make enough booze' to buy, so I was standing there trying to find a way to say no, with a straight face, when she pointed to a trash bag stuffed full of LQS fabric. I nearly got a hernia from whipping out my wallet! She then said "by the way, it got rained on yesterday, so it might be a little 'musty' smelling." I picked up the bag and walked smiling back to the van and DH.
I came home and loaded my heavy duty washer (twice) and started ironing Monday morning. It took all day. Only two small pieces had any staining (red to white transfer).

I think I better go buy a lottery ticket today! Nearly 70 yards of fabric for $10.00!DH says no more fabric until I use some of this. Yes, Sir! lol!)
