Sorry for your loss. The quilts are precious memories, so just treasure them.

Hugs to help you with your sadness. I understand your uncertainty with what to do (or not do) with such cherished treasures. I personally would leave them "as is", or totally re-work the blocks into new sashing, combining old with new and enabling them to continue to be handed down and cherished.

What a wonderful gift, you have just been handed a treasure that no amount of money could buy. I cant tell you how to fix them, but I can say you are a very lucky lady to be able to hold your great grandmothers work in your hands. enjoy the memories. God bless. Penny

they are beautiful! and what treasured heirlooms! Your mom and grandmom know how much they are loved! Contact the International Quilt Museum, I believe they are in Illinois or at least in the Midwest somewhere...they will know what to do to preserve and repair these historic quilts! I'm sure if you'll google them, they'll come up and you can be on your way to restoration!
    Kind Regards,
