what a fresh and innovative way for a tie quilt! I like what you have done so far, and can't wait to see where you end up in the finished quilt. Thanks for sharing.

I like it a lot! Actually it's the first "tie" quilt that I've seen that really makes me want to try one!

Love it too. This is a very interesting way to make a tie quilt. I have been collecting ties for a while too and have about 180 now- all of them are from someone I know, most are my DH's but a few from my late father and my nephews. Did you wash them before stabilizing? The deconstruction process seems a bit daunting to me.

Ditto! First one that really got my attention. Love your design. Its going to be amazing! How about black or gray sashing with red setting squares?

This is going to be wonderful when finished. It is very interesting to back to an interrupted project, from way back, and see the improvement in our work. Make me feel like I have improved my techniques.

    peace

This is going to be a beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see finished pics! I was shopping one day and a display of ties caught my eye - the colors and patterns were way fun! This is a great idea.

I had already decide on sashing if you look in one of the photos....it is a yellow fabric that looks like tie fabric as well as a solid yellow for the cornerstones....that was done way back but, I might change my mind.....now I find that my choice doesn`t add enough contrast and that the tie fabrics get lost a bit....think I`ll take your advice and choose a darker sashing....
