This quilter spaced her 'flowers' widely and added a special border. It's a very fresh-looking up date for GMFG.

Humm... I have done a google search for GMFG quilts. I am thinking I will do a walkway in white around each flower ring. If I add the white flower rings in, it will probably work out to be a double path. Thank-you so much for the ideas. I also like have the little diamond paths around the flower rings...that will take some drafting. In the meantime, I can make the flower rings. I should end up with at least 100. Did I mention that the hexies are only 1 inch across? Quite a challenge I think.

A challenge but a pretty one I think it is wonderful for you to be continuing another quilter's work....and adding your own touch. Two complete strangers collaborating! It will be a beauty when you finish, so don't forget to keep us posted.

I have twenty two more rounds to complete then I can do the connecting stars to complete my GFG (Queen size)....many years in the making.

What a fun project. Are you connecting the hex's by hand? You have me intrigued and can't wait to see your finished quilt.

This is my all time favorite quilt pattern. Haven't done one yet but am working up courage to try it. Please post the completed quilt. I appreciate the care you are taking to make it so authentic.

I really like that border "Green Heron." It opens a lot of possibilities.

I do plan to connect everything by hand. I think if I finish this in my lifetime, I will have to hand quilt it as well.
