After I squinted a little bit, I saw him very clearly. Did you design this? Nice job!

Great pixel quilt! Had to push my chair back a bit to get a good view. Great job and great color placement!

Not a kit...I have an art background & like to work in grays because I'm color blind. Worked from a picture of Groucho & used photo retouching software to pixelate/mosaic the photo. A lot of trial & error until I got the design to a manageable place with not too many squares.

Yes I made up the pattern using an original black & white image & then photo retouching software to pixelate/mosaic the image to a place I liked with a manageable amount of squares for the size I wanted. I purchased the 9 different fabrics each with a little different tone of gray + pure white & solid black & cut 2"x2" squares & stuck them on a cardboard as a "proof-of-concept" to be sure it worked before I made the actual quilt. When finished I was happy with the results however it has to be viewed from a distance to see the picture. I assume you could use the process on just about any image.

What fun! I don't think I could create such an image like you did. Maybe there is a market for you to sell custom patterns from pictures that people send you.
