I also did this for my son's graduation I made a brick pattern on a plain sheet (this was before I learned to quilt) and friends wrote on it. Both he and his buddy were classroom helpers for a kindergarten class to the teacher had all the kids sign pillow cases. Warning I used a sharpie at the time and he had names imprinted on his cheeks from it so use something safer. for fabric. I knew nothing about quilting back then!

Smart to have the quilt finished before the wedding. My sister's bright idea was to have guests sign on panels of fabric which would then be set together into a quilt. The younger grandchild is school-aged, and the panels languish.
