Don't listen to your son. What does he know. I think the bag is beautiful and she should appreciate the love and thought you put into it. But, if she doesn't like the fabric, let her choose something else and use this yourself.

I have a friend who made me a purse for my birthday. She chose fabric I would never have chose myself, but I have to tell you, I absolutely treasure my purse because she gave it to me and I do get lots of comments on it. I wouldn't change it for the world. So - if you are uncertain, just slip a note inside that says - if for any reason this isn't "YOU" then I would love for you to help me pick out fabric that you do love for a purse. That way you have covered your basis all the way around.

Your future DIL is going to love it. If not, I'll send you my address ;)

I hate when doubt sets in based on an opinion. Do what your gut tells you. I am sure she will love it. You did a beautiful job.

Give it to her for her BD--then take her fabric shopping and make another for Christmas. I'm sure she will love both.

Give it to her. It is beautiful! Even if she uses it for a cosmetic bag, she will appreciate it. Your son ain't got no taste.
