Patti- it's gorgeous! It's a good thing it's already spoken for by someone we can't argue isn't gonna enjoy it, and that we all don't live so close together cuz we'd be having an awful family fight about it! And if you're anything like my Dad, (he declared he was going to be buried in the Grandfather clock!) you'd announce something like that to stun us into silence.

    Patti,
What a wonderful quilt! I mean, I saw it in process, but this is just stunning! You have done a terrific job on this quilt, and really inspired me for my own project.

Thanks all for such nice compliments  Lucky me...I'm the one who knows where ALL the mistakes are buried!! DH does like it and has given me some direction along the way (then, if I didn't like his direction...I did it my way  ) I think he is pretty proud of it already though. He makes me show it to everyone who stops by the house and embarrasses me to death..

No, I didn't hand dye it  I just wish I knew how to do that. The fabric is the same pattern on the front background and just a darker colorway on the back..Its called Arches out of the National Parks Series by Northcott. It was fairly inexpensive (comparatively speaking of course) but has been great to work with. I bought out the store where I found it.

I did the machine trapunto..added a layer of the high loft poly under the feathers..I think they are too small..or maybe they just won't look right until I do some small stippling closer to the design to emphasize it. We'll see..won't we?

And..you are welcome for the tip...I sure am using your good idea on the FG!!

Pat this project has been like turning up roses. I know it's been said but it gets prettier and prettier everytime I see it. Buried mistakes, HA! In 50 years no one will know the mistakes are there, so take a moment and enjoy the beauty of your creation! :D

You have been doing a perfectly beautiful job. I love it. I wouldn't recommend a variegated thread or a colored thread for stippling around the hearts but that's just me. I would use the same color thread as the background color for stippling. You don't want to draw attention to the stippling but to the hearts. Stippling around the hearts WILL enchance the hearts much better.
