You know your fabric is from the 60's when you find a pair of hiphugging bell bottoms that were homemade by the person who had the fabric. I don't think I ever saw a pair of bell bottoms where the "bell's" were this big but I had to laugh as I certainly had some of these but they weren't made of gingham and the bell's weren't this big.

Early to mid-70's - elephant bells. Don't ask how I know...

Have you seen the paisley fabric out there now? I have pictures of my ex from the 60's with ugly paisley pants. I made my first pair of bell bottoms in 66 and had guys ask me to sew some for them. I did not make any for them.

Capri pants, toreador pants (remember the strap that went under your foot?), bellbottoms...we sure were fashion plates.

OK...those are for a guy, right??

My mom nearly had a heart attack when she saw my elephant bells. They were quite the classy pair in gray wool suiting. Still have the McCall's pattern too.
Good memories.
