I didn't like string quilts before I joined this board. BUT since joining I have viewed such well done scrappy's and strings, That I have both a scrappy and a sting going right now. I am doing them and making myself make it totally scrappy with no control hoping to break out of my comfort zone. Scrappy and strings are way out of my comfort zone. I'm now a lover of both kinds of quilts, thanks to all the wonderful, gifted people here on the board.

I love your red string star quilt! I really like string blocks and quilts as I am very poor at cutting correctly and the string/scrappy are very forgiving. And I hate to throw away any fabrics. Save all for either cutting into scraps or save anything to small for doggie/kitty beds and stuffing. I think string/scrappy is the ultimate concept of quilts our foremothers had in mind using all the scraps they could find as all the fabric stores weren't just around the corner or down the street. Fabric is expensive to me...
