Love this darling quilt!!! Thanks for sharing! And also the idea about using the green ones for trees (wonky maybe, like the stars) It would be terrific.

Here's a string star top that I just completed yesterday. I wish I could give credit to someone for the unique setting, but I can't find the reference where I saw a picture of it....on a blog somewhere, I'm sure. No pattern, just pictures of this setting in a more scrappy style. Last year was pretty stressful for me and I would just escape to the sewing room with my drawer of strings and an audiobook. I ended up with 24 red/light blocks and 24 blue/light blocks! All 10.5 inches, pieced on muslin on the diagonal. So this finished out at 64 inches square and used only 10 of those blocks. Only 38 more to use up!!

Anita, I love your star! Thanks for sharing. Hey with 38 more blocks, you can make many quilts. Check out bonnie Hunter's site and books for great inspiration too.

No pattern for the quilt-designed it as I went. There are many tutorials however on how o make wonky stars including one on Quiltville.com for Maverick Stars.
