Love your little quilt! I have done many things with strings(strips?). How about a St. Pat quilt with four-leaf clover?

I love string quilts - I like the way they show you can use ANY fabric and they turn out great. I really like your wonky stars!!

Very pretty quilt. My first couple of scrappies were controlled. Now I use the bag method. Grab a string and add. Only goes back if it isn't long enough for the spot. Sometimes I add a strip to that to make it long enough.

Your quilt is wonderful. I have never worked with strings but it looks interesting.

I really like this one!
I'm not into the scrappy thing, either, but hope to find a way to start using up some of my scraps other than BOM's. Funny how no matter what you do with them they seem to reproduce! haha

Default String Star

I have a love/hate relationship with strings. Hate sorting and storing them (they must multiply when I'm not looking) but love what can result from them....like your string blocks. Thank goodness for Bonnie Hunter's inspiration to all of us.

Here's a string star top that I just completed yesterday. I wish I could give credit to someone for the unique setting, but I can't find the reference where I saw a picture of it....on a blog somewhere, I'm sure. No pattern, just pictures of this setting in a more scrappy style. Last year was pretty stressful for me and I would just escape to the sewing room with my drawer of strings and an audiobook. I ended up with 24 red/light blocks and 24 blue/light blocks! All 10.5 inches, pieced on muslin on the diagonal. So this finished out at 64 inches square and used only 10 of those blocks. Only 38 more to use up!!

Looks really nice and a lot of work it must have taken cutting all those strips. I like it and would like to try one. Good job. Sue
