Karla-my first day on in a while and I see you have a new baby!! Congrats!!!!! How fun!!! Looks like with a little practice your fancy stitches are perfection! How about a crazy quilt and use your fancy stitches to embellish? And, when you become a Grammy someday you will find LOTS of uses for them!! They are so cute on little girls (and boys) clothes.

I wish you many, many happy hours creating with your new machine.

Ya just gotta work at it to get them right, that's what I finally figured out.
Congrats and happy, happy sewing!!!
on the janome theres little doohickey on the right side that lets you adjust for length and width of fancy stitches. see if yours has one too. it looks like a dial on the janome. when you get it right, write it down cause you'll never remember it.

Oh yea, barnbum. I've been there, done that. Know just how you feel. But as the saying goes, "each dog has its day." and my mama used to say that "there are more days than dogs." There will come a time when all you will have to do is sew. And believe me, it sure feels good. But this retired teacher has filled up her days with too many commitments and still struggles to find enough time to sew. Enjoy you PTs. They're important. Relax.

Just tell all those parents their kids talk too much and need to apply themselves to reach their full potential.

Then go home and sew!

What a wonderful machine   Yup, it is a workhorse, but you won't have to clean up after it

Use those beautiful stitches to embelish your quilt labels. Love the hearts on the Raggidy Anne aprons, too cute.

Okay--I'm writing this down....  Got it!!
I'm at school--it's 2:30. I ran to Wal-Mart to get more of a fabric at 12:00-(-kids had a half day) --looks like water moving!! The parents start at 3:00 and it won't stop until 6:00!! But, I've got my line now.

Even with getting home at 6:45 last night I still had time to cut some strips so I can sew them up tonight--or tomorrow.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been looking at Jamome w/ a larger bed to quilt large projects. Let me know how it goes with the Baby Lock. The price sure sounds right! And the machine looks good.
