That's how I feel. I love being creative and being able to do lots of things. I may not be the best, but I always give it a go. Keeps us all out of trouble(so broke we can't afford to go anywhere...lol). I think of it this way, I don't go out, I don't drink...look at all the money that I'm saving for fabric....hahaha!!! I think I'm good on fabric now I gotta worry about batting. two rolls isn't going to be enough. :)

 me too, don't drink, don't go clubbing, just a quiet family that keeps our noses to the grindstone... we have to have something for enjoyment! My 13-year old (she'll be 13 in a month) and I tried jewelry this last summer, talk about addicting! We must have spent well over $500 on supplies / tools / findings... but, now when we're broke, we have stuff to play with :) so when I gotta walk away from a complicated sewing nightmare, I've got choices

My uncle words it a little different: "I'm so broke I can't even pay attention"

I know...we did the same thing. I was buying all kinds of stuff on the internet for us. Then I started the bottlecap magnets. I did good at first and got enough to do 200....then I bought all the stuff to do 2 or 3000(can't remember exactly). We ALWAYS have lots to do here. I think is great to show kids how to make all this stuff.
Love your uncles saying!!!

I saw several spots large enough to put upper cabinets or shelves.. In my room it was so small I did not have room for fabric storage so I installed upper cabinets and I am kinda hanging it from the ceiling. I still don't have all my fabric in the cabinets so no more new fabric until I sew some of what I now have, into quilts.

I am so blasted happy for you! I know you will get a tremendous amt of happy, fun times in your room. I am 57 yrs young & I do wish I had picked up the quilting bug when I was in my 30's!!! I just want to live long enough to make all of the quilts I have in my head! *sigh* Last time I actually thought about it, I will have to live to be over 125 yrs old. LOL Love your stash also btw. I look at it like this....the economy finishes up tanking & ends totally in the toilet, those with stashes will still be sewing their butts off for a long time. So you are just investing in your future and sanity. So shop on darlin', surely you can find space to put it somewhere. Loved seeing the pics!

And you had all this stuff where, before your new room? Very nice.

My new "Quilting Studio" is looking just like this...only my room isn't as big! Am somewhat frustrated with all the stuff. Scrap-booking, cross-stitching and quilting creates a lot of it! Got rid of a lot, but more has to be done so I can move around. UGH! Bless you for taking pics of the process!
