I agree. If somebody worked that hard to piece it, I think it would be a great 'omage' to her piecing skill, if you re-quilt it for her.

something that beautiful deserves to be finished with new batting and quilting......lucky you to find one that pretty!

I have bought many of these old quilts and take them apart. Then I wash the top gently and get the dirt out.

I have to agree with redoing it, restoring it back to it's beauty. I'm sure it was beautiful when she was finished with it. And it will last much longer after it is restored.
