The work of taking it apart and redoing it would be worth the time and effort.

It is a beautiful quilt. I am with everybody else, I would take it apart and put new batting on it.

I am a little surprized. All of us agree......this must be a land mark post. Usually we differ on what we would do, but not this one. A new batting will give it new life.

The piecing and the fabric appear to be in such good shape - I agree: take it apart, replace the batting and quilt it in a way that it deserves to be. It is a nice piece and will live on longer with your assistants and TLC.
