I love these scrappy quilts too! If we cut our scraps into usable pieces as we go along, we could use them as leaders and enders. That way it isn't alot of piecework all at once and you don't have an overwhelming pile of scraps that you never get around to.{but can't seem to part with}

I'd say these leftover's are better the second time around. You did a good job of utilizing them.

Very nice. Combining the squares with the neutral was a good idea. Love the flannel back.

Oh Gladie, that is wonderful. You are such a creative gal. I just love it. Good job, thanks for sharing. I have a zillion 21/2" squares, now you've given me some good ideas.

Yes, it is really neat. I would not have thought about using the little blocks as a medallion, but it is great. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks again. I really like small things, as some of you DQ swappers know, this was taking it up a size notch! Lucinda, if some of your squares are neutrals (ie white on white or white on beige) use them with the deeper colored squares and you will have a scrappier effect and can sew leaders and enders as HisPatchwork suggests.
moreland--my quilting buddy and I noticed how more dramatic a block (especially simple blocks) is when set on point and I just thought that this whole center piece was one block.
