    please.

My original plan was to use the blue polka dots as the first border, but the more I look at it, I think the same purple that is in the quilt goes better.

    Which do you like?

I LOVE the blue polka dot for the border. It adds a lot of life.

I really love the blue polka dots with that top. They just pop with life and color! Not as big a fan of the border color, though, at least not with such a bright center... it looks somehow dingy next to the top, even though it's a lovely fabric on its own.

Have you considered a narrow border of the pink that is in the quilt and then a wider border of the blue polka dot?

I agree totally! Purple is too dark!

I'm with Jennalyn, if you have a little brighter fabric for the border, I'd try that. With a different border, I think either the blue dot or the purple would be great.

    Nice quilt by the way!

I would use the purple as one and the blue polka dot as the outer boarder. The material for the wide boarder you have showing is a total different colour tone. The center of quilt is too bright for that muted wide boarder.

I wouldn't use the purple. The blocks in the quilt bleed into the border if matching fabrics touch. Besides, I love that blue bubble fabric. I used every smidgeon of mine - I see a trip to the quilt store in my future. I think your outer border will work with the blue to brighten it.

    That's what I think too.

Oops was supposed to have the previous quote that said to use the purple and blue, but not the wide one you have as the outer. Coloring is to different.
Love the colors of the quilt though. Very cheery

I'm going to be totally different and say I like the polka dot as the first border, then the purple... that other mottled purple just isn't doing it for me... IMHO ;-)

I decided to order some more of the purple that is in the quit top for a border & for the backing. I will use the other material on another quilt.

    Thanks for all the input!

This is tuff. The blue polka dot makes this quilt pop and live. The purple seems to dull even though there is some of it in the quilt. It works there. Is that an outer border fabric the mottled purple and rust and blue. Another hard call. Maybe the color picture isn't catching it right but from what I see, it is too dull for this happy, bright quilt.

I would love to see the blue p-d and the green as borders to accent the true spirit of this happy piece. Sorry to be so critical but we are here to help everyone learn about making choices that enhance our work. Please take another critical look at your choices and audition some more colors before settling.

thanks for listening. I love this happy quilt!
    peace :D

I am going to bind it in the blue polka dot. This is just my 2nd quilt, but I knew it wasn't right!
