I can not leave my sewing room a mess when I am ready to leave for the night. I pick it up daily. Just can't walk back into a mess the next morning.

Well, I'm a messy quilter too. I let it go until even I can't stand it and I clean it up. Then I can't find anything.

I have a bag next to my machine but the scraps and threads just wont go in. They much prefer the floor. I need a trash can big enough to put my machine and chair in then it would not be a problem until it got to full to sew anymore.

Our quilting room is down in the basement with carpeting on the floor and down the stairs leading to the sewing room. The problem is (if you want to call it a problem) is that both me and my daughter both quilt and she is the neat one and needless to say I'm the other. But what fun when we can both find time to quilt at the same time.

My sewing room is a disaster right now, everything was taken out, refolded, re stacked and piled everywhere. It has even migrated out past the living room and kitchen and into the dining room.

Usually when I am doing a project I don't clean my sewing room until after I am finished. Then I drag out the "red vacuum" and keep my good "blue one" for the rest of the house.

Thanks for the picture. I will share it with my husband . He is always getting the vacuum to clean up every string and i lean over and clean as I go because I know it bothers him. I put the trash can beside me and sometimes I miss it.
We just have to enjoy what we do.
Have a great day.

My sewing area is in the basement on the unfinished side, and I'm usually the only one going there, so I don't have to clean up. Since I recently reorganized it, I do try to keep it that way (fabric folded and put up and things back in place), but I don't sweep the floor every time I'm down there. So there are fabric scraps, thread and some pins on the floor most of the time.
