I started this a year and a half ago and I have no desire to finish it

Isn't it amazing how much we've grown in our quilting skills from when we started to where we are now. I have had this same experience, looking back and seeing my earlier work in a whole new light.
I still love the things I made waaay back when, but I would make them differently now, with a more discerning eye.
You go girl!

I admit I didn't read all 9 pages if posts so I apologize if this has already been suggested --
I suggest you finish, don't worry if everything lines up or not, and then donate it to charity. Someone will love it.

Cjomomma, I know how you feel. I have had stuff wadded up in the back of my closet a few times. Gives you a headache just to think about a 'dead' project.
I guess you could unsew the corner blocks, end up with a nice rectangle. Sandwich and bind it, and use it on the top of a table or something. Actually, it is very pretty and I think you have done a good job so far.
Can you tell her the dog ate it or something and just go buy something for her?

Oh no this quilt won't be finished I took a pair of scissors to it. Changed the blocks and now it is waiting in line for it's turn to become a quilt.
