Don't let the old coot get to you. It's a beautiful quilt.

{{Hugs}} You did nothing to feel small about. He was probably just remembering his Mom or Aunts and how they quilted.

It's a beautiful quilt! Wish I had been there I would have admired it loudly for you! Those feathers are nice!

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion...no matter how STUPID it is!!!

I absolutely love your quilt and wish I was as talented as you are. Love your feather wreaths - just gorgeous.

This is what I would have said: I would do just as you say it was done in the old days, but husbands don't support their wives as in the days of old. Women now have to work outside the home, make money and still have 99% of the work at home ---- so that does not leave me very much time to do any sewing by hand. And besides the quilt is not how its made, its the love that went into it.

First off. .your quilt is stunning!! and don't let what anyone says affect you negatively.. second.. makes me wonder if he was remembering someone he'd lost who made the quilts the way he described.. sounds more like he was talking from loss and bitterness than really downing you.. or he could just be an old crumudgeon <grin> I don't know if I spelled that right or not.. but right or wrong I feel sorry for him if he is so bummed that he cannot appreciate something so beautiful..
