Where's Patti? She's making me nervous with her silence. What if she doesn't like it? Oh, that's right, it doesn't matter if she doesn't, 'cause I'm keeping it!!

OK, Melanie, I took my sewchine into the repair shop, and got a cheap used one. (Which I will return as soon as my baby is well!! It is awful!) Anyhow, I managed to finish your top. I made some changes to the corners to make the "crown points" more distinct. The pinwheels are still there. And yes, the dark purple coping strips are different sizes. I had to do this to make the center a size divisible by the size of the border blocks. I know the lady at the LQS who helped me pick out the fabrics wants to see it, so I may wait to mail it till Monday.

Hi Joy - DH found a photo of an actual stained glass panel on the web and we drafted a pattern off that in black and white, enlarged it and printed it out. Then I traced it onto thin white cotton, cut the pattern up to use for a template for the coloured sections, hand basted them on then sewed the bias (home made) down by hand. It took quite a while, needless to say! The hardest thing was working out the order to sew the bias down so as to hide all the ends. If you'd like our drafted pic I'd be happy to email it to you if you PM me your email addy. :-D

Well, I guess Patti and Mel have taken the weekend off. Good for them! I'm starting to get ideas for Patti's, but it isn't going to be easy to follow JoeAnn. (Groan)

I just spoke with Patti, she's got a dead modem and the library is closed, so she's going nuts!!! She says hi, but I have told her about how pretty the addition but I won't tell her what it is!! She's suffering out there!!
