Default Jewel Box quilt in progress

I am currently working on a free "Jewel Box Quilt" pattern I found online a while ago. I am making this pattern from my brother's ties and blue background. It is a favorite block of mine. 10 blocks done and had to see what they would look like in two different layouts. I am enjoying the whole process except for taking apart the ties and stabilizing them

What a great idea! It's looking good so far. Have you decided which layout you prefer?

This is going to be a beautiful quilt. What size are your blocks? Which layout do you like best so far? Right now I think I like the 2nd one best with the hour glasses.
