So I guess to be fair I should have posted the crib size quilts as the actual first ones.

    For grandaughter

For grandson----took me about 8 years to finish

Found out he was an avid Texas Tech. fan and so I ordered the Tech fabric online. Then took it to the LQS and told the woman helping me that I was there to get complementary fabric and a pattern. One small hitch...I could barely sew a straight seam and knew NOTHING about quilting! Instead of wondering why on earth would I try something so ambitious...she helped me find the right pattern and material. Also gave me TONS of help and encouragement so that I could go home and give it a try. Three and a half weeks later...I had a quilt! And...was hooked for life! ;-)
    Hi Karen!

    Beautiful quilt!!!

I'm kind of embarassed to show my first quilt, but for better or worse, here it is. After my mother (the only quilter in the family) passed away, I took all of her homemade dresses, cut them up, and made lap quilts for my two sisters, my two daughters, and I. I had no idea what I was doing but we have a great keepsake from our mom. That was three years ago and even though I still don't know what I'm doing most of the time, I am definitely addicted!!

Here is my first quilt that I made in the late 90's or so. Also my first hand quilting. I doubted I'd ever finish it when I bought the fabric at JoAnn's.

Mine was beautiful until I noticed the wonky block when taking a photo for the board, but I love it anyway, it was my first pieced quilt.

My avatar is my 2nd. Actually the first 2 were yo-yo's.
