I'm so happy for you! There's nothing like these old Kenmore machines for beautiful straight-line sewing.

You are one lucky lady. The machine looks very clean and in good shape. If it hasn't been used for awhile you may want to oil it.

By golly, I think you hit the jackpot! Nice! These old machines are SO much better than what is available today. I'll take one of these basics any day over all the electronics. You can pretty much service them yourself and since they're mostly metal parts virtually nothing goes wrong with them!

Great gift. Hubby and laughed out loud when we saw the Greist attachments. My dad may have made those pieces, and DH inspected them. They both worked for Greist, later called MITE Corp. and one day my dad told me about this nice guy at work. I borrowed Dad's car for a summer job while I was in college, and when I went to pick him up one day he introduced me to this "nice guy." Forty-six years later, Dad is gone, MITE is in our distant past, but my guy is still very nice.

My first electric machine in 1973 was just like your free gift and my daughter is now sewing on it. You can`t beat the old beauties.
